In the Cookie settings page, select Allow all cookies if it is not already selected, as shown in the below figure.Click on Cookies and other site data, as indicated in the above figure. In the middle of the page, you should see the Privacy and Security section.Type the word "cookies" in the search box at the top of the Settings page to be directed to the Cookies settings in Chrome.Click the Configuration and Customization button on the top right of your Chrome toolbar, then select Settings from the menu that appears, as shown in the below figure.This may be required immediately after browser installation, or to change the settings after a browser update. HOWEVER, recent updates to the Chrome browser have changed these defaults and may require you to perform the procedure below to allow them. Historically, Chrome has allowed Cookies by default. In this case, the cookies are necessary for the two authentication mechanisms to talk to each other and open Echo360 content for you. This is especially important where a main website such as the LMS or your University Portal tries to open Echo360 inside of a frame. Be sure to select the proper Time range from the drop-down list.Ĭookies contain some of the current session and authorization information we need to know who you are and to allow you to view content. Press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Delete to open a dialog box for clearing cache, cookies, and browser history, as shown in this figure. You MUST ALSO clear your browser cache, as well as cookie and site data, to ensure you are no longer blocked from viewing content. IMPORTANT: If you encountered the Enable Cookies message when trying to view Echo360 content, you will need to change your cooking settings as described in the section immediately below. If you are using one of these browsers and Cross-Site Tracking and/or Cookies are not allowed, you will see a message directing you to enable them.
This is because our approach cookie-less presentation requires the use of Media Source Extensions, which are not supported by some iOS browsers at this time. We recommend you continue to allow third-party cookies in your browser, as viewing content within Echo360 through an LMS/VLE (your Library or an Echo360 course) still requires cookies, as may your mobile device. Cookies are not required when viewing content in the updated Player embedded within other webpages unless you are viewing it from certain mobile devices, especially those running iOS. Echo360 is in the process of removing our dependency on third-party cookies when viewing media outside of our platform.
